Guarnaschelli participated in Food Network's Iron Chef America in 2007. She faced Cat Cora at the Farmers Market Battle of 2007 and was the winner. After appearing as a Judge on the show In 2011, she took part in the show's fourth season in which she came third. The contest ended in defeat on an episode of Food Network Challenge Ultimate Thanksgiving Feast. Her position was upgraded to sous chef for Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian following the 4th season of The Next Iron Chef. In 2008, she became the host of Food Network's The Cooking Loft with Alex Guarnaschelli where she teaches a small group of students instructing them on how transform classic meals.
